Program Descriptions
Mental Health and Justice Short-term Residential Beds
8 beds that are part of a network across four quadrants of Toronto providing services that include:
- 24/7 on site supports for up to a 30 – day stay
- A clean and safe living environment
- Access to the basic amenities for living e.g. food, clothing, hygiene products, etc.
- Crisis support and instrumental counseling
- Support in enhancing basic Activities of Daily Living skills (e.g. cooking, housekeeping, hygiene, transportation, etc.)
- Advocacy, referrals and linkages to community based services and supports
- Community follow-up
Generic Short-term Residential Beds
4 beds providing services that include:
- 24/7 on site supports for up to a 30 – day stay
- clean and safe living environment
- Access to the basic amenities for living e.g. food, clothing, hygiene products, etc.

- Support in enhancing basic Activities of Daily Living skills (e.g. cooking, housekeeping, hygiene, transportation, etc.)

Short-term Residential Beds Registry
A web based registry housed by CMHA to provide:
- Basic eligibility criteria
- Real time bed vacancy information
- Network partner site locations, descriptions and contact information
- Referral forms and information
Referrals can be made through the registry only.
Please note that beyond the basic eligibility criteria, suitability for admission is determined by each individual site.
