Holiday
Gift Program
Each holiday season, CMHA Toronto’s Holiday Gift Program
provides more than 5,300 gifts to men, women and teens, as
well as 300 children whose parents are recovering from mental
illness. Every $22
donated purchases one gift for someone recovering from mental
illness. Read
more about the Holiday Gift Program.
The
Green Fischer Personal Assistance Fund
The
Green-Fischer Personal Assistance Fund was established in 1999
to help clients cover basic needs that they cannot afford, and
which are not covered by social assistance.
Eligible expenses include such items as medications,
dental expenses, phone cards, a one-time metropass, etc.
Clients are asked to contribute what they can towards
the expense.
The
Cameron-Lurie Educational Bursary
The
Cameron-Lurie Educational Bursary was established in 2003 to
provide financial support to clients who are pursuing
educational opportunities. Any
CMHA Toronto client who is currently enrolled in an accredited
educational course (or in the process of applying) that will
move them toward their personal goals is welcome to apply.
The amount
of the bursary generally ranges between $200 and $600,
depending on donations to the fund, the number of applicants,
and individual educational costs.
The call for applications goes out in May of each year,
and the deadline for applications is July 31st.
The
Reaching for the Stars Business Subsidy Fund
The
Reaching for the Stars Business Subsidy Fund was established
in 2009 to assist CMHA clients who want to start their
own small business, but require financial support for costs
such as registering the business, printing of business cards,
brochures, etc. Any client of CMHA Toronto who has an
achievable self-employment plan is welcome to apply.
The call for applications goes out in January of each
year, and the deadline for applications is March 31st.
